
The 18-hole “Mountain Glen” course at the Mountain Glen Golf Club facility in Newland, North Carolina features 6,723 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72. Designed by George W. Cobb, ASGCA, the Mountain Glen golf course opened in 1963.
This beautiful mountain course features bent greens and bluegrass fairways along with plenty of mountain streams to negotiate. Always in superb condition, this course is a joy to play. This club has fairways that are fairly wide open, and typically flat. The greens are medium-sized with moderate breaks, and there are some pine and maple trees, and Rhododendron bushes lining the fairways. Man-made lakes and a creek come into play on sixteen holes.
